I have on cassette from the early 80s a "Cheatleg" entitlted Indian Rope Trick, which featured a merged India-Western Beatlesque stuctured instrumental with interspersed sound affects and echos and a clip within containing vocals and rock band backing that sound like early 60s Beatles.
Bueller? Anyone???

Bueller? Anyone??? You can almost figure that anything that tries hard to sound like the Beatles isn't. There were a couple of fake songs around that time. "Peace of Mind" is one (though this one is still debated, the general feeling is it's not them), "L.S. Bumble Bee" was another. It sounds like you're referring to "Peace of Mind." If it's a really poor quality tape, that's what it is (since there are no good quality versions of it). And again, the general feeling is it's a fake. "L.S. Bumble Bee," by the way, was Peter Cook and Dudley Moore.

No-I have Peace of Mind, Bumblebee (Dudley Moore), Have You heard the Word, I Need You, etc.
This is completely different, buy appeared on an LP with Bumblebee, and the Mike Love India stuff.
And it's NOT from Wonderwall either (unless it is an outtake).

I remember reading about that song title (Indian Rope Trick) in the 1970s -- probably Beatles Forever -- and then when I finally heard the Mind Games set (8-track!) I head the lyric "tight as an Indian Rope Trick..."
Was that track around in demo form in the Beatle days? I don't remember hearing about it on the Lost Lennon Tapes or anywhere else?

A dealer made a cassette of LP above for me at '88 Beatle convention in Meadowlands. There is a studio type Indian flavored instrumental song, then it goes into the acoustic Thank You Guru Dev/Happy Birthday Mike Love. It will try to make it into an mp-3.

Hey MikeV, I have that LP. I will give it a listen over the weekend. It's been so long since I heard it. The track says it's Indian Rope Trick(The Famous Ode To The Maharishi from 1967??) It's so famous nobody knows about it! Again this is from the same LP that says Cheese and Onions is a solo Lennon Outtake from 1974 lol..
