The tape of a lost weekend Lennon warbling Lloyd Price's "Just Because" brought $30,000 at an auction Sunday in Los Angeles. Described as "One standard orange-colored cassette tape with audio of Lennon in fall of 1973 singing the Lloyd Price song 'Just Because,' " it was given to the former owner by Lennon, the auction house said. Okay...I've only had a copy of it since 1985... Original studio reel...maybe $30K, but a cassette? Geez they saw this fan coming. Hey fan...I have an unreleased cassette of John singing a extremely rare song called "Watching Rainbows". Why, it is so rare-I can't even mention it here-so many of these fans would just be bewildered....(shhh) I'll give it to you for a bargain only $25K!!!

I hope Misterclaudel gets his hands on this -- we'd see it on CD probably early next year! Regards, Beatle Bob

This session was actually depicted somewhat accurately on the TV Bio Pic John & Yoko - A Love Story back in the 80s. Lennon lost his glasses, was drunk as a skunk shouting out Spectahhhhh!!!!! Spectahhhh!!!!!

And I just found it on Adam VIII's "Roots" CD and Voxx's "Rock 'n' Roll Sessions." I looked in Chip's book, too. He mentioned "You Should A Been There" (vinyl). It's definitely been around, though I didn't remember it. The Rock n' Roll sessions weren't high on my list of favorites. That's probably why.

The Vigotone set I never purchased. Never been that much of a Beatles solo fan to be a completest with their outtakes. Once again, thanks! Regards, Beatle Bob
