What songs, characters, moves, props, etc., would you like to see in the upcoming Beatles' video game?
They better have a yellow submarine...

Their tight trousers! ;D
Seriously, I am of such mixed emotion about this. What is the difference between Beatles' recordings in commercials versus Beatles' recordings in a Beatles' video game. I suppose Apple makes even more money from the video games.
Either way, we don't seem to be any closer to Beatles' music, film and video catalogs that we can all be in complete awe of.
Sorry Steve, I didn't mean to get heavy on a Thread that should be fun I am not a gamer so I am bemused by this news.

I'm probably less taken with this news than you are. I'm not much of a gamer (unless you call playing baseball sims and casino games gaming) but clearly, they're going for the young folks here. The old guys (like me) get left out again. Why the music doesn't take precedence over this bothers me. Enuf said.

This news is so exciting! I've been waiting a couple of years for such an announcement. My kids (ages 9 & 14) had one word when they heard the news - AWESOME! We have both RockBand and Guitar Hero. The RockBand platform will be great and, even better, now that they are adding a keyboard! More exciting news. It has been through these two games that my girls have been exposed to some really super music. Sometimes they take the games and equipment to school for their friends (and teachers) to play at lunch break. A lot of the tunes on the games (ie. Boston, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, etc., etc.) are being played on radio more frequently now. This is a big positive for getting the Beatles music out to an even wider audience. The music is so accessible this way. I sure hope they do a decent job with it. And I hope they will be doing the graphics of the boys, they way they did with Aerosmith on the Rock Guitar Aerosmith edition. Will they have the early Beatles singing the early songs and the older ones with the older ones?? Any Sgt. Pepper uniforms? This is very exciting. Steve, when the play list is announced, please be sure to post it. By the way, my girls also play real instruments, guitar and piano. And for some of the music they play in the games, we have sought out the sheet music for and they have learned the songs on their instruments. In fact, there are Guitar Hero and RockBand music books out now. It's great to hear the music! Yes, it will be fun!! A splendid time is guaranteed for all!

I'm not much of a gamer either. I do have several pinball games on my computer that I really like and I'm somewhat addicted to Tetris, even have it on my cell phone. Looks like they're targeting a younger crowd. Anything that gets Beatle music out there and in front of young people, I think, is a good thing.

That's cool that your kids are so excited, Riff Raff! I'm waiting for my brother to get his son and daughter the game, too, so I can play! I'm not much of a gamer, either. Just when I see the nieces and nephews during the holidays. Then I get to watch them kick my ass on these games. Give me my Frogger, Donkey Kong, and PacMan and we'll see who's boss! ;D JCV

Give me my Frogger, Donkey Kong, and PacMan and we'll see who's boss! ;D JCV My wife's sentiments, exactly! My boys have expressed interest in the games (after playing them at friends' birthday parties). They already like the Beatles (through osmosis, no doubt ) so this will be cool! BTW, JSD, at the campout last weekend, they had karaoke. My son chose....."Hard Day's Night"! I was so proud..... ;D ( I followed up with "Eight Days a Week", FWIW )

I don't care what they put in it. Or that they are doing it at all. Word is that this deal means huge money for Apple. How nice.
Undoubtedly, some of you guys and your video-obsessed kids will think a Beatles video game is a blast, and I hope you/they enjoy it. But to a fan like me--a first-gen female--this type of project means nothing. In fact, it's like a slap in the face. Why is Apple so dismissive of the very fans who made the Beatles a phenomenon in the first place?
Paul thinks this is a "fun idea." Well, here's a funner idea, Sir Clueless. The remasters. Bringing the very music that you flog to death in your concerts into the 21st century. Here's a few more fun ideas--Shea Stadium, Let It Be, a DVD of the old promo films. Even the release of the Christmas messages would put more of a spring in my step than this...okay, I'll say it. Crap.
Apple seems to be fixated on bringing younger "fans" into the fold to the complete detriment of the real fans. I heard that the cover of "Beatles 1" was done in bright colors to attract the kiddies. Ditto the cover of "Love." Funny, I remember being fascinated by the black-and-white artiness of Meet the Beatles. I guess today's kids never outgrow the "shiny objects" phase of infancy.
Well, good luck to Apple in its recruiting efforts. Someday they might regret taking the loyalty of us older fans for granted.

I suspect that there are more clueless people in his immediate vicinity though. What do these people think? I mean honestly. What, rather than release all of what they've got they're gonna release it in dribs and drabs over a 178 year period? Why don't they just get everything they've got, package it properly and put it all out... People will still buy it. They don't have to maintain this one release per year shit surely?

Every time I see something about the pending release of Beatle remasters, I'm reminded of this somewhat cryptic statement from Paul in 2005: SIR PAUL McCARTNEY has slammed rumours he will take advantage of MICHAEL JACKSON's financial troubles to make a low offer for THE BEATLES song rights - because he will get them anyway.
Reports of Jackson's dwindling financial prospects prompted speculation McCartney would buy back rights to his classic songs like YESTERDAY, but the rocker revealed a legality means the songs will soon be his anyway.
And the superstar stresses his one time feud with Jackson is over because he is too happy to be angry with the fallen pop king.
He says, "I don't think so. I've had people talk to me who are more concerned for me than I am about it. But the interesting thing is, there are actually things in the whole deal that actually revert to me anyway. "There are years approaching, there are date approaching, that we never thought would approach, where things revert to me. So really, it's a waiting game rather than a big proactive buying game.
"Which suits my personality: just hang on, be patient, it's cool. Don't get your knickers in a twist." www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/mccartney%20wont%20buy%20beatle%20rightsI don't know when this reversion takes place, and I suspect it is incremental, meaning the 1963 material becomes his before the 1969 stuff, but I think we have, at least in part, the answer to the question "what's the hold up?" Maybe? JcS

Well there's a difference in terms of coin what you get being a musicain on an album as opposed to a songwriter. I don't see any gain for Paul in waiting till the songs are in the public domain or depending in which country you're i whether for whatever they're worth when they return to hoim zdfgukuyrkfn fhdghsdfgh dfgh sh ssgfs ftghsfg s fgshsfg zdfg zfg goo goo ja goob sdfgsdfsdf ere i am he as dfsdfgskfjasd;fsade yelow matter sdfsdf fzfzsdf DSf meat city sdfsdfsjdf;js; loved you all sadfasfsd hairy arsehole asdasd ad
