"....some time in the future" is a bit vauge, but I guess it is better than saying there are no plans to release it.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks, Steve, in your pursuit of the truth.
Apple's response certainly leaves the door open for LIB's ultimate release but the question remains WHEN? Yoko's response about waiting a long life for LIB is still a relevant response, I am afraid.
We want it NOW!

My advice for those who want it out that are computer (video)savy...get the DVD (copy of laser disc) floating around and redit in the "new" 5:1 pieces from Anthology.
I have software, but can't quite seem to do it yet.

Great news.....but like others have said....WHEN? In our lifetime? The LaserDisc dub is nice, probably the best one out there.

I just secured--after a couple of weeks of downloading on a spare computer--the Beatles GET BACK CHRONICLES, a bootleg 3 DVD set of the sessions in 1969. I've not had time to watch much of it yet, but it looked like the official movie was incorporated into the footage that was not used.
Those of you that are torrent-savvy can find it; if you're not, try BitComet.com to get started. The files were misspelled as CHRONICALS, but it didn't keep the search engine from finding it.

JcS Joey: Let me also recommend Filmography 3, a two-disker that has LIB and supposedly all the available outtakes, though the set Joey just mentioned would appear to have more. And then there's the two-disc Picture Perfect Get Back/Winter of Discontent. I don't know if either of the two are torrented, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Thanks for the info-worth a shot.
If and when it is put out- it would be kind of funny if Apple put out a corresponding "CD soundtrack", then you would have Let it Be, Let it Be Naked, several versions of bootlegged Get Back, and the soundtrack, not to mention a new interest to younger fans in stuff like 30 Days. People will still complain.
There will be Let it Be lunch boxes and i-phones. Let it Be clothing and Let it Be energy drinks... okay...going off the deep end...

I think that statement is about the best we can expect at this stage from Apple. At least they responded and kept the hopes up. Hopefully, it won't be a question with an endless answer.

Apple has a lot of projects going on. The Beatles catalog for download is probably the one they are planning next. And in remastered sound, with any luck. Then there's movie projects. All Together Now, the LOVE docu is what's coming this fall, so they're not going to release another DVD close to that one. And they're also planning the re-release of the Magical Mystery Tour. And they have acres of outtakes of that one as well. They missed their opportunity of releasing LIB alongside LIB Naked, so they're no longer in a hurry on that one.

Thanks Steve, for having the integrity to find the truth , and not falling for the tabloid banter.
I would rather Apple take their time and do it right, instead of a rush job.

Apple started a restoration of Let It Be back in the early 90's... I think they've had plenty of time to 'do it right' by now! Still, it does seem that it's not quite a completely dead issue, just WAY back on the back burner. A far cry from the days when Capitol/EMI wanted a new Beatles release every 2-3 months!

I own a bootleg, but Apple's version most likely would be crisp and clear, but as stated earlier, I hope it get's released soon, the Wait, is taking a bit too long.

The reason I ask, is that from what you say earlier in the posting, it seems that you are actually acquainted with 'people who should know' within the organisation. Was this quote from one of these people or was it from the dark, murky depths of Apple HQ? Regards, SuperHans.

I know this is pure and idle speculation, but if Apple have slated the 'Let it Be' DVD for release 'some time in the future' the obvious 'future date' surely must be the fourtieth anniversary of the film's original release, i.e. May 2010. It makes sense....remasters possibly 2009, 'Let it Be' the following year. Perhaps?
