I just found this new footage on YouTube, of a 2008 encounter Paul has with photographers on the street in London. He calls a guy a "Rat" and a woman "Fatso". There was another TMZ video on this a few years ago, but that one apparently was coming from the "fat girl's" POV camera, I presume -- because we never got a chance to see what "Fatso" looks like in the old version. (As it turns out, I think "Fatso" is more attractive than skinny old Nancy).
From this angle we can't really hear the part where Paul encounters the fat girl and says " -- and YOU are like a big fat school GIRL!" (as in the old version taken from her camera), but here we can see Paul seemingly just attacks her from out of the blue, as he is running into different people with cameras, and the girl just seems to be there.
Overall though, seeing this footage a little more complete than last time, it does seem more like these photographers were gleefull about busting Paul's chops and wouldn t let up.

That woman is not fat. Paul is a jerk. If you look at the first time we see her in black in full when Paul is crossing the street, okay, so maybe she can lose a couple of pounds. I like her. Frankly, I like seeing women who are not toothpicks. I really do think she's better looking than Nancy.

I am of mixed emotion about that. Those people are persistent, they don't let up. But Paul need not say a word and just keep walking like Nancy does. In fact, Paul was keeping two or three steps ahead of Nancy, not very gentlemanly. Yeah, when Paul calls the guy and woman names and mimics the guy that does not reflect well on Macca. There is a link to James McCartney but he is not a jerk but just huge, a big beer gut! I don't know why that was in a site called "Stupid Famous People" because James was okay, not bad at all, and the camera was zooming in on his belly and the bald spot on the top-back part of his head. That was obnoxious on the paparazzi's part. There was film of Mick Jagger in the airport and he wasn't being a jerk, just not saying a word and ignoring some dodgy little kid trying to get Mick to sign something. I actually thought that Mick, like James McCartney, was fine. To stop and sign stuff in an airport would open the door to mayhem! Cool site though JoeK. Part of me felt sorry for Paul but a bigger part was just, "Be quiet Paul and keep moving." When Paul does his music videos where the theme is Paul the ordinary guy in public, he comes up and hugs fans, shakes their hand or poses for pictures because his camera is running too and he looks like a man of the people. Look out when he's not making one of those themed videos.

Even if that woman weighed 300 pounds, Paul is an ass for calling her a name. He's Sir Paul, not Prince Philip.

In fact, Paul was keeping two or three steps ahead of Nancy, not very gentlemanly. I do think these people were a bit too relentless... and at the end, the girl's kind of laughing and someone asks "Same time tomorrow, Paul?", as if they delight in seeing Paul's negative reactions. As you said, all Paul need do is keep walking and stay silent. Lately I have been watching a lot of these "paparazzi videos", and sometimes the stars actually are their own worst enemies. I just saw one in a parking lot with Brad Garrett going ape-shit and breaking a guy's camera, when if he just shut up and went to his car, there would be nothing interesting for the paparazzi to film. I haven't said this yet, but something about James really freaks me out. He's really odd looking, to see him so huge and balding like he is, though with a Paulish face. Yeah, I know I'm always breaking your chops, JSD, for picking on Beatle Kids, but I just can't look at James -- he frightens me. Yes, and I'm beginning to think that those old days of stars routinely stopping for autographs almost anywhere are a thing of the past! That's just it. I'm thinking there is a really unlikable side to Paul that manifests itself only once in awhile with events like this. Here is another thing about the cameras rolling on Paul, and his being fake-nice... I tried to meet him in 1992 when I had tickets to that "Up Close" NY gig for MTV. He would not sign autographs all week, some fans were saying. But when the MTV show was actually aired, it had a taped intro from an afternoon rehearsal on the side of the Ed Sullivan Theater as one of these young guys about 19 years old was photographed running up to Macca and asking him: "Mr. McCartney, may I have your autograph?", and Paul smiled for the cameras and said "Certainly, Mr. Respect!" , and signed. Well, I recognized this "fan" as one of those people telling me Paul wasn't signing things, and he happens to be an autograph dealer!

You know, scousette, of all the negative things I have either heard Paul say or seen him do with my own eyes, for some reason the "Fatso" thing upsets me most. You can't really see it in this version of the video because it's not the girl's camera this time, but on the other video from her POV you can hear Paul say "And YOU are a big fat school GIRL!" (very nastily, not heard well on this vid). Then Paul continues to repeat: "yeah, okay, Fatso"... "Sure, Fatso"... and "See ya, Fatso", as she was calling him things like a "pathetic loser". Now, if this girl was a paparazzi, that's not as bad -- but if she was just someone in the crowd at the time who was a TRUE FAN, that would have to be shattering for her image of Paul.

That's the thing, if a star just smiles and keeps walking, any photos or video is not worth much(it still has a value but not much). It is when stars go nuts, break things, hit people, yell "Fatso" that TMZ and others pay big money for it and it is all over the media and the internet. Stars need to remember that and always remember silence is their friend as to the paparazzi. LOL, James just does not look good at all in that video which is part of what you gave us Joe on his dad yelling at those people. Yeah, he has Paul's face but nothing else of him looks like Paul(not his hair color, his body shape, he's bigger boned than Paul ever was) and that is freaking me out now too!!! Like a Mini-Me or whatever. And James has that wild growth of chest hair he displays with his fondness for open shirts! That chest hair creature on James tried to swallow our MikeV when he met James a while back. I have softened on James as it must be tough living in the hyper-competitive McCartney Family. I don't think Linda was competitive because she rebelled against dad Lee and brother John's Type-A personalities. I think Paul and Stella though push the others around. I wonder if Paul yells "Fatso" at James to motivate him? If so only in private. It would be tough to be Paul McCartney's only son. The expectations were impossible for James to meet in all fairness.

I'm probably in the minority position here among fans, but OH MY GOD (!!!!) if I was getting harrassed like that while I was just minding my own business and trying to walk down the street I would be throwing punches and physically attacking people and godknowswhat. And that asshole with the camera, Paul keeps asking him (politely) to leave him alone and the guy keeps saying he's just doing it because he cares about him so much? ? KILL KILL KILL I agree its rude (as well as sophomoric) for Paul to make fun of somebody's appearance. But geez, how much is a guy supposed to take, how many rude bastards does he have to put up with, forcing themselves in his face, before he snaps? I ask you.

Let's see this happen when Paul's cameras aren't rolling! You make a good point, John. In some ways Paul set himself up by always pushing the public image of Mr. Nice Guy, Mr. Affable, Mr. I-Care-So-Much-About-My-Fans. John, on the other hand was always pretty up-front. He used to say (words to the effect): "The only thing we owe our fans is to give them value for their money." And I think they did that. I just don't understand this attitude so many fans seem to have that these celebrities owe them something. Sure, you can say you "only" want a minute of their time. But multiply that by the millions of other people that "only" want a minute of their time. I've lived on the streets for years so I get the low-grade version of this kind of harrassment. The constant drumbeat of my life from the moment I get up until the moment I go to sleep is: "Hey brother could you spare a cigarette, spare some change, spare some food, spare a light, spare a hit off your beer, spare etc etc etc." And so many of them (like a lot of these fans I suspect) have this "you-owe-me" attitude. They're not just asking, they're demanding.

I'm pretty sure you're in the majority, from what I've read from people in the "comments" section for this video. Most people by far sympathize with the celebrity over those cockroaches called "paparazzi". However, I am of two minds about it... first, of course it is intrusive on the stars' privacy and I don't believe I myself could handle that well at all, either. I think that even though stars have always had to expect exposure and invasion of privacy like this, it HAS gotten worse than ever in these recent years.... I have seen many of these videos and they can be downright DANGEROUS (remember what happened to Princess Di). Perhaps there should even be LAWS AGAINST HOUNDING CELEBS LIKE THIS... -- but on the other hand, they're getting paid well and I've always felt "it comes with the territory". You have to pay something of a price back for the million$ you've made off the public, and much of that involves sacrificing your privacy even when OFF THE CLOCK.

Here's another video of Paul getting annoyed in France. However, in this case they're not "swarming all over him", they're just a few folks taking photos from a distance. Paul is pretty polite about it, but at one point he does his now-famous "mimic" routine of someone else, making fun of the person. I just don't understand Paul thinking he controls "the whole country" here... he steps out of the restaurant as if he is King Of All France, and doesn't want people even across the street or down the block to watch him. (He is a big star though, after all )...

Wow, there are a ton of cool videos attached to that last video Joe posted. The best are the Howard Stern interviews with Paul where Paul comments on the then Ringo announcement of "no more autographs" and the claim in the Philip Norman book on Lennon that John was sexually enslaved to Paul("I wish" said Paul!). Say what you will about Howard Stern but he has the best interviews ever with both Paul and Ringo! It is a damn shame John Lennon was not able to be interviewed by Stern, that would be legendary!
I also saw for the first time Ringo's 1989 interview on David Letterman, that was fun because Letterman wasn't yet the complete asshole he is now. Ringo even does some great drumming with the band. He is in his pony-tail period Sir Frankie Crisp saw him in!

I make no excuses for him on this: it's a reaction which does him no credit whatsoever, and I don't think I'd react like that myself in those circumstances (although I can't know for sure). But I think I can understand it, especially if he's being baited, and there is no doubt that some of these people do set out to bait celebs into an overreaction, which looks as if it may be what happened here. And I do find myself aware that I get crankier as I get older, and Paul has 10 years on me! I wonder what proportion the nastiness bears to the niceness, and in what circumstances it happens?

Wow, there are a ton of cool videos attached to that last video Joe posted. The best are the Howard Stern interviews with Paul where Paul comments on the then Ringo announcement of "no more autographs" I saw that Paul clip, and of course Paul is gonna agree with Ringo. It's wrong IMO for celebrities to suddenly declare "NO MORE AUTOGRAPHS EVER", when you consider that there are always new young fans who've never met The Beatles before. And not all of the signatures are going to be sold by unscrupulous dealers, contrary to what Ringo and other stars "think". Besides, even if many DO get sold, so what? They will wind up ultimately in the hands of a happy fan who appreciates it but does not have the opportunity to meet Ringo for him/herself. So the dealer makes some money in the bargain? So what? The stars already have millions of dollars, so how does it hurt their own stash? Paul says in that clip that "Ringo was always like that. He was the one who didn't mind signing at shows and things, but he didn't want you knocking on his door at home or people bothering him in his private life". The thing is, Paul has always been known to be EXACTLY THE SAME WAY! Paul does not like being bugged in private or at his hotel. What a PR con man Paulie can be! "Oh, I just signed outside the studio here, no big deal" -- yeah, right, Paul.

There are some really good videos linked to the two Joe gives above.
There is a frustrating one called "Paul Walks In NYC" frustrating because it is Paul's cameraman following Paul and he is very cool to everyone he meets but of course his people are filming him! Two heavy-set ladies in their 50's approach Paul while he is talking to his camera(announcing what streets they were on) and even though these ladies rather rudely interupt Paul, he poses with them and even shakes the heaviest woman's hand. No yells of "Fatso" anywhere. He poses with a young couple and he puts his arm around them! Then he is seen playing "Nod Your Head" in concert so this was a few years ago.
I am telling you, if Paul is being filmed by his people approach him. If Paul is not then beware!

He was perfectly nice to them in the beginning and when that wasn't enough for the bas#@$&s he was annoyed and let them know it. Its the type of people who when you give them an inch they take a mile. Surprisingly, I am on Paul's side on this one.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any. We do get the impression here that Paul may have given them something at first, but what? The chance to film him for a bit, and then "enough"? But no matter how you wish to twist it to maintain your God-like worship of Paul, there was NO REASON for him to resort to name-calling, whatever the annoyance. If you watch this video, it SEEMS that the "fat girl" was not even in the area at the beginning -- she "seems" to be intercepted later on when Paul's crossing the street, with her own camera. Why, even you, RTP, may have been visiting London that day and, had Paul crossed a street and you were there gawking at him or taking a photo, he may have ranked you out as well!!?!

You may be correct -- I did mention earlier the "glee" in all of this. The girl DOES seem amused that she got a rise out of Paul. I am trying to see different sides to this -- after all, perhaps this girl has followed him before and Paul has seen her before. The funny thing is, at the end someone does ask: "Same time tomorrow, Paul?" BUT -- on another video I have of this (from the girl's POV camera?) she does sound pretty devastated by Paul's "big fat school girl" insult... you cannot make it all out here, but on the other vid she is clearly saying "How dare you?? does that make you feel like a man in front of your girlfriend? You're a loser... You showed your true colors -- you're pathetic....This will be on YouTube... " (and her voice sounded shaken up while saying it)... We just can't know the details. The guy holding the camera in THIS video sounds like he is so full of bull, regarding "we love you Paul".
