I may be in the minority to think that perhaps we are getting a bit "too much" with the McCartney remasters. Paul's discography has always suffered to me personally in that Paul never really knew how to edit himself. For every 2-3 albums, we would have one really good one. Of course, this is all relative.
Also, I'm not a fan of deluxe treatments of albums, specially when potentially lesser albums dwarf my Beatles stereo collection with their massive coffee table sized tome appearance. Plus the price seems to be a "wee" much for those of us who do not have to have everything. Of course, I would not mind at all and would pay for the deluxe treatment of all the classic Beatle albums (perhaps remixed like YS Songtrack). It is a matter of personal taste. However, I do like the size and mini LP feel of the regular editions of Paul's remasters and love the "sound" and dimension they bring out -with the sole disappointment being "Wings Over America".
However, that said, I may stop at Bestbuy-if I have time, I may go pick up the CD's/Tote bags.
Although, I am really hoping that we will have "Back to the Egg" next. "Getting Closer" "WinterRose/Love Awake" are perennial favorites.

I know what you mean, I bought the re-mastered Ram with the bonus disc and later I bought the deluxe Box of it when it went on sale at PopMarket but I still haven't opened it from the shrink-wrap. These do take a lot of space and thus far the bonus material, though interesting, hasn't really blown me away.
WOA was disappointing although the Box is filled with gimmicks and things like fake tickets and stuff. I did like the bonus Disc of the S.F. Cow Palace show as the songs actually sound live and more rocking, we all know WOA had a lot of studio "sweetening."
I am keeping an eye for a PopMarket sale of TOW and POP and likewise if anyone else gets notice of such please post it, they sometimes have great deals.

I'm supposed to receive mine Wednesday. I'll have to go pick it up Thursday because UPS won't deliver to apartments without a signature.
I'm waiting to hear what the "Coming Attraction" insert says. I'd much rather have Wings' Wild Life or Back to the Egg than Flowers in the Dirt.

I have fond memories of "Back to the Egg" and even "London Town". I was still in love with all things Beatles around that late 1970s period. "Wild Life" and "Red Rose Speedway" also deserve to be released before delving into "Flowers in the Dirt". That album was digitally remastered in 1993 at a time when the record industry was already using computers to achieve a technically perfect sound. I'll admit I always felt it was a return to form for Macca after I'd spent a decade forgetting about the Beatles and their solo music. It also gave him a launchpad to start touring again. But unless there are some serious extras on a second disc I don't really see the point of releasing it BEFORE his 70s output. It also opens the question about "Broad Street" and "Press to Play".

I broke down and bought the deluxe TOW and POP from amazon.com today and because I am on that amazon Prime thing, I could download the two albums instantly. Yikes, I forgot how Pop POP was(and TOW too). Man, Paul forgot what Rock and Roll was in that period and please, "Ballroom Dancing" is NOT Rock and Roll! Justin Bieber rocks harder than Paul did on those two albums!

That Bieber comment was too funny, John S. Thanks for the Amazon tip, I forgot about the autorip, which was the way I enjoyed McCartney's "New" before I had the CD. Gosh, I feel old. I remember going to the record store, picking up the LP Tug of War (and if I remember correctly sometime in that timeframe Somewhere in England and Stop and Smell the Roses-those three albums are always associated in my mind-I'll have to make a playlist of these three albums).
You are spot on about the Pop of POP, yet the poppiness of TOW worked its magic for me back then-the title track drew me in right away with Martin's orchestral backup—a much fuller sound than McCartney II (which I also like for different reasons). I remember how good it sounded on headphones back then. I'm so looking forward to it again. I also loved "Here Today" and "Wanderlust"-even the "The Pound is Sinking." I cannot wait to hear "Rainclouds" again since it has been a long time and I loved the feel of that b-side.
I remember not really caring for "Ebony and Ivory" as a song, although the spirit of it is beautiful-perhaps because it was overplayed in my lil' island of Puerto Rico. I thought "Take It Away" to be more on the satisfying power pop side (nothing on POP gets as close IMHO). POP feels almost like one big B-side to TOW (were these songs all all TOW rejects?) and yet I have a strange nostalgic tug for "So Bad" because it was the soundtrack to my first rejection on a date with a girl. The song captured my ache at the time perfectly. Although I never bought the record, Puerto Rico played this song from every little speaker in every bustling little town.
Does anyone know if "We All Stand Together" should have been included on POP or was this a latter recording?

TOW was one of my greatest "first listen" experiences of Solo Beatles material. I remember buying TOW first day release and absolutely loving it first listen. You are right darkhorse67, the George Martin involvement instantly made it sound different in that nice, familiar way.
I too look forward to cranking this reissued TOW on my stereo system. I thought the sonics on Wings At The Speed Of Sound were amazing, absolutely outstanding so maybe TOW will be even more so in this 2015 version!

"We All Stand Together" was recorded before Pipes of Peace but released way later, right at the end of '84.
I think Dark Horse 67 raises a good point. Paul is indeed a highly prolific artist with a lot of forgettable fluff in his career canon. It might have been an idea (it might still be) to issue a series of 'remasters' of each era of his career, cherry-picking the better tracks -- as opposed to just reissuing everything.
So, there could be separate CDs, such as: 1970-1971 1972-1973 1974-1976 1978-1980 1982-1985 1986-1989 Etc.
So, there might be 10 CDs or something, cherry-picking his best.

My TOW and POP boxes arrived at the office and I was immediately censored by my law partners for cranking the song "The Other Me" from POP! They weren't mad that I cranked music at the office, they were mad because they didn't like that song. "Say Say Say" really loud with that great MJ co-vocal didn't save the day either.

The new Say Say Say: www.facebook.com/thebeatlesI suppose you have to have a facebook account. I tried finding the clip on youtube. There is a version of the song with audio only. Heaven forbid Paul had a popular video.

The video itself is twee, trying to make an old 80's pop song look cool in the 'Hood today.

If Paul is doing the cherry picking, it could be 10 cd's of fluff. You're right. Disc 5 will kick off with 'Ode to a Koala Bear', followed by 'The Frog Song'...

Wow-that sounds like a completely different version! I thought the video collection had a great re-mix too. That has to be an alternate version and MJ vocals are clearly mixed up to such prominence that Paul sounds like a backup singer when you hear him at all. Paul's voice sounds almost like a light tenor with all the low frequencies of his sound removed. When you watch it and listen, it really sounds now like just a MJ song. Can you still call this version a "duet" ? Paul approves of this version?

Maybe as a bonus track...

His voice doesn't even sound like him when he does sing. Kids today will think this is a MJ song. Paul who?

Maybe as a bonus track... Disc 1 has the original version of the album, no remix. Tug of War has the remix, replacing the original mix. This is on the 2nd disc. As you say, Paul and Michael do alternate lines with what they sang on the original, but Michael keeps the pivotal third lines in the songs, "All alone, I stay ..., What can I do..."...etc.
