Congrats woolie and all fans of England! Another tie may have sent you folks into shock.
The U.S. win is huge news over here, pushing the rogue General story to Line 2.
I imagine the lads are singing the closing chorus of Ringo's "Liverpool 8" down at your local pub about now.

It's getting like World War II now. France have surrendered early on. Italy have really struggled in Africa and bowed out. Japan really looked quite dangerous tonight. The USA turned up late as usual and England are still standing to face the Germans

I have to say well done to Germany they beat us at a style of fast counter attacking game that we often see in the Premier League. As for England well we still fail to beat a major nation when it really matters. I think we must now look to the next generation and sadly that means a fair few players stepping down. All our major players failed to turn up when it mattered. And they looked like a scratch team in a park game today. But the tournament goes on and I will enjoy the football no matter who wins.

Once again England are denied, this time an obvious goal to Lampard which would have changed the game. I'm not saying Germany didn't deserve to win but at 2-2 at HT it would have been a different game. FIFA need to get some good quality refs as this has ruined the tournament.
As for England, they have no passion and will to succeed whereas all these other countries will do anything to win.

England is a nation deep in shock after our dismal exit from the World Cup. Normal TV and radio schedules have been suspended and the BBC are playing a programme of patriotic music and dirges. The Queen delivered a special broadcast at lunchtime in which she was gulping back tears! People are just walking round stunned, shrugging their shoulders, crying a lot. We are a dejected and sorry people.

I hate to say this, because it makes me look like a sore loser (which I probably am) but I've lost all interest in the World Cup. Spain and Holland totally deserve to contest the final -- good luck to both. Neither countries have won the World Cup and both are great footballing nations. However, the England debacle has left me deflated and disillusioned. If I've got an evening to spare, I'm watching cricket. Once I start watching a certain sport I find it hard to switch, so it's T/20 cricket until the domestic footie season starts mid August (not forgetting the super Stillers over Stateside!!) COME ON LANCASHIRE!!! Lanky - official mascot of Lancashire Lightning cricket team

Understandable , first England bowing out meekly in the WC, then Andy Murray continuing the curse of English tennis, all you've got right now is some 20-20 cricket.
I am going for Spain because I love their skill.

...then Andy Murray continuing the curse of English tennis... English tennis is complete pants. However, Andy Murray is 100% Scottish!
