. . . The Eagles lost so I don't care anymore... I'll take that as a vote for the Chargers. ;D About the Eagles, too bad their play was so bad that Eagles fans in bars were chanting "We want Vick." That can't feel good.

I'm looking at Cardinals over Packers Baltimore over New England Bengals over Jets Cowboys over Philly . . . How about you? Well, I got the Cardinals, Baltimore, and the Cowboys right. Okay, now here's who we have next: Chargers vs Jets Colts vs Baltimore Cowboys vs Vikings Saints vs Cardinals My picks: Chargers, Colts, Cardinals, Vikings What about you? Luckily I picked Dallas to win 'cause my other three picks lost! I'm still alive in the Survivor, and hopefully whoever is left, if any, will want to split the pot and be done with this! Too nerve-wracking! So, as of this moment, if I have to pick the next games, I'm going with: Chargers Baltimore Cowboys Cardinals JCV Oh, and PS - You guys can keep your earthquakes, I'll take the snow!

Update: The remaining 3 on my Survivor Pool have decided to split the pot. I'm a winner! Whew! So glad I don't have to pick this weekend, but I would have went with the Chargers. Good luck, sayne! JCV

. . . but I would have went with the Chargers. Fuck!!! You're lucky you and friends came up with a monetarily agreeable arrangement. You would have taken a bath betting on my sorry-arse, always choke against lesser teams, always commit stupid brainless penalties, play not to lose instead of playing to win loser Chargers. It's on to the Colts for me.

sayne, I was stunned and sorry for you and other Chargers fans. The Chargers were going to be dangerous if not fatal to the Colts. Not that the Jets won't but your team beat us last year in the playoffs in the first round so we were very wary of them.
I am not going to curse the Colts for next week but we in Indiana thought that we'd play the Chargers for sure!

What the heck is wrong with your Chargers...do they have the same luck as the Cowboys? Well, this weekend will be interesting. I'm just hoping I have good numbers on my Super Bowl pools. JCV

Well, unfortunately it looks like your Chargers are going to have, maybe not a major overhaul, but some sort of an overhaul of your team. Same with my Stillers. There are changes in the air. JCV

For the Super Bowl, one always hears about wagers between the mayors of the two cities. Well, here's one that is esoteric, but humorous: www.artsjournal.com/man/2010/01/art_museum_director_super_bowl.html I'd like to think that the directors of Los Angeles' art museums would be so cool as to engage in such a bet, but ...................... WE HAVE NO FUCKIN' FOOTBALL TEAM!!!

As for the Bears, they fired Norv's dumbass brother, Ron Turner, as Offensive Coordinator. They haven't replaced him as yet so the results remain to be seen. Film at 11.

Good luck tomorrow, JohnS. I'm an AFC guy, so represent. However, I have to admit that I would not mind or grieve if the Saints won. One good thing about not having a team in the game AND having an interest in the game is that one can just sit back and enjoy a good game, cheer for both sides, and sweat for both teams when the clock runs down at the end and one of the teams is driving for a winning score. I'll have my chili cheese fries and brats (all veggie, of course) and iced Corona ready to go by game time. Enjoy your time on center stage.

Thanks, sayne, but it wasn't meant to be, at least not last night. The Colts played not to lose but the Saints played to win and that was the difference. I thought that we were in trouble before halftime when our D stuffs the Saints on 4th and goal. That should have pumped us to high heaven and made us feel invincible but then our O tries to run out the clock from the 2 yard line. That is not Peyton Manning's style, he is famous for squeezing points in right before the half, even if just a field goal. I knew we were in trouble when I realized our rookie Coach was playing it safe there.

. . . The Colts played not to lose but the Saints played to win and that was the difference . . . You are so right. THAT is exactly what happened. You know, in a way that attitude explains why the Colt didn't go for the perfect season, too. They played things by the book. Can't say they were wrong and I can't say their game plan was wrong for the Super Bowl, but their approach to the game was more cerebral than emotional. Doesn't always work, but in yesterday's game, emotions won out.

Well, it's the end of an era for the Chargers. LT is off to other things. Shoulda happened a couple of years ago, though. It'll be interesting to see if he pulls an "Emmit Smith" and gets a shot with another team. Hope not. I don't want him to fail and I don't want him to prove the Chargers wrong, either.

Ben's like a lot of these modern day athletes. He suffers from being young and dumb with lots of money to go along with it. There are females out there just waiting for guys like Ben to slip up, he's a meal ticket for 'em. Ben needs to smarten up before it's too late.

At least twice now Big Ben has been accused of sexual assault(or actual battery) one of those resulting in a civil lawsuit. He's another pro athlete who thinks he can do what he wants without consequenses. I don't buy this blaming the victims.

Do you think it looks like Ben will be an ex-Steeler? No. As you may know, Santonio is now an ex-Stiller. Guess they're going to give No. 7 another chance to clean up his act. They'd lose too much that they have invested if they just traded him for a pick like they did Santonio. Believe me, no one in this town is happy about his antics. We're just trying to look forward and use what's available and hope we have a halfway decent season. Right now I'm in full hockey mode. LET'S GO PENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!JCV
