Couple of articles here on Stella........ September 1, 2012 -- Star Pulse
Stella McCartney Honors Her Parents' Marriage With New Perfume
Paul McCartney's fashion designer daughter Stella has created a new perfume in honor of his near 30-year marriage to her mother.
Photographer Linda Eastman wed the Beatles legend in 1969 and the couple enjoyed a lasting relationship until she lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998, aged 56.
Now, their daughter Stella McCartney has paid tribute to her parents' romance by launching a new fragrance based on the Let It Be hit-maker's nickname for his wife, L.I.L.Y., which was also her favorite flower.
She tells Harper's Bazaar, "I've been hiding away from giving out information but, yes, that was my dad's nickname for my mum, and I always knew I wanted to create a fragrance called Lily. Lily of the valley was a flower my mum loved, and it's also one that I loved."
"I love that it represents spring, I love the way it looks, I love everything about it. It was my wedding bouquet, and it grows in our garden now... I have huge admiration for my mum. I think that I'm keeping alive some of the things she believed in and elaborating on that."
Although Linda passed away nearly 15 years ago, Stella insists she still struggles with her mother's death every day.
Fighting back tears, she added, "I'm not good with death, I'm not going to pretend I am... (It was) definitely the most difficult thing in the world I've ever had to encounter. It's with me every day, the thought of how one deals with all of the repercussions."
"I'm aware that it's part of everything I do, in a good and bad way."and another here, worried about getting Breast Cancer as per her mum? Read more: www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...l#ixzz25V2uEjSpComments from Linda_Lyon (replying on the article, above?)
She, Mary and Heather have every right to be concerned just like the rest of us do when their mother had breast cancer. In fact, Stella and Mary have even a higher risk than Heather, as their paternal grandmother, Paul's mother, died young from breast cancer. So they have it on both sides. The original interview covered a lot of different subject so of course the sun chose the most dramatic headline to sell the story

Good stuff, Rocko. Yes Heather, Stella and Mary need to be vigilant as their mother had breast cancer. As the reader's response noted, Stella and Mary also have Paul's DNA to worry about as Mary McCartney suffered the same illness.
I was curious as to Stella's quote in the link:
“It’s really hard because you think, ‘I’ve got to make sure I don’t get cancer for the sake of my kids, and I’m going to make sure my sister doesn’t get it for the sake of her kids’.”
I would hope Stella would also make sure Heather Louise gets her cancer screens too. Stella says "sister" not "sisters."
From what Howard Sounes writes in Fab, Heather is an absolute recluse rarely coming out of her Sussex home that Linda made sure was deeded in Heather's name alone before Linda died. Stella and Mary need to make sure Heather gets the medical treatment/screenings she needs as Heather seems more inclined to stay in her house and not make arrangements herself.

I hope all three of them are getting checked, and I hope that none of them smoke - I know that Heather and maybe Stella have smoked in the past - hope they've given that habit up!

Whilst searching for images yesterday, I came across this article..... (The image is at the start of this thread) www.perthnow.com.au/entertainment/beatles-kids-could-form-a-band/story-e6frg30c-1226318572466Beatles' kids could form a band April 04, 201211:11AM The Beatles - John Paul, George and Ringo - and what would be the ultimate cover band - Sean, James, Dhani and Zak. Picture:
BEATLEMANIA could sweep the world again after Paul McCartney's son said the Fab Four's children might form a band.
James McCartney told the BBC website that he and John Lennon's son Sean, George Harrison's son Dhani, and Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey had mooted the idea of forming The Beatles - The Next Generation.
"I'd be up for it," said the 34-year-old, who is launching a solo career as a singer and guitarist. "Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it."
He added that Starkey was less keen, but that the band could "hopefully" happen with "nature's support".
All four have followed in their fathers' footsteps and pursued musical careers. Sean Lennon is a New York-based singer-songwriter, while Dhani Harrison fronts London rock band thenewno2.
Zak Starkey became a drummer like his father Ringo Starr and has played with bands including The Who and Oasis.
James McCartney, who strongly resembles his father, said he had "dreamt of being better than The Beatles".
"I'm not sure if I can do that," he told the BBC. "If anything, I would love to be equal to The Beatles - but even that's quite tough."
The younger McCartney was playing a gig yesterday in Liverpool, north-west England, at the famous Cavern Club where The Beatles first made their name.
His two EPs have been co-produced by his father, who at 69 shows no signs of retiring and released his latest album Kisses on the Bottom this year.

Thanks Rocko! I have never seen the bottom photo you posted, only the one of them hugging. It dismays me how the Press started calling her Paul's step-child after Linda died and now almost always omits her completely when naming Paul's children. But then again you have Stella saying she will make sure her sister(singular) won't get cancer clearly meaning Mary by the reference to her children. Swept under the rug.

Julian, Sean, Dhani, Zak, Jason, Lee, Francesca Gregorini, Stella, Mary, James, Heather, Jason, (missing anyone?)
Anyone care to rank the kids in order of talent and then again by success? I think Stella is on top and James and Heather are on the bottom on both counts.

Hard to rank Jason and Lee Starkey. Don't really know much about those two. Ringo has another step-child, Gianni Gregorini. Don't know anything about him either. All I know about Francesca is that she used to be Portia DeRossi's girlfriend.
What about Beatrice? She sells lemonade.

You know, she does sort of look like a combination of Paul and Linda.
Hey--Paul has a step-son now, Arlen Blakeman. Let's rank him too.

I have extended invitations to Pattie Boyd Harrison Clapton, Heather Louise McCartney and Heather Mills to join this Board. Three women I'd like to know better(or know at all!). Of course I have no way of knowing if my attempts at electronic communications got through to any of them but I tried. My communication to Heather Louise went as a "Premier Member" of paulmccartney.com so it probably ended up in Stella's Inbox and she's read enough here to hate my guts(and me hers) so that was probably deleted. I suspect Heather Louise doesn't, "even know her own mind." So let's treat her gently, treat her kind if she does join here!

Hope Mrs. JSD is on board with all of your Beatle gfs! ;D
Now, to defend Stella, I'm going to excuse her for not mentioning her sister Heather, because she was speaking of her own responsibility as a mother to do everything she could to not get cancer and leave her children motherless, and she mentioned Mary as a fellow mother. Heather L. has no children, and the omission of her name may be as innocent as that.
What would have been the cause of a rift between Heather L. and Stella? From what I've read, Heather L. was no fan of That Woman, whom we know Stella hated - Heather L. wouldn't even go to the wedding. So that can't be it. Heather L. and Stella might not be as close sisters as Mary and Stella are, which is understandable considering the age difference. At the same time, Heather L. is Linda's daughter and looks just like her, which should endear her to anyone who loved Linda and misses her which we know from Stella's own words that she does. Stella once attributed her personality to "third child syndrome" ... so until I hear her state that she doesn't consider Heather L. her sister, I'm not going to believe it.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it! ;D I'll even bet you a nice dinner next time you're in N.O., JSD, that no proof (direct quote from Stella) ever surfaces. ;D ;D ;D
Whatcha got against Stella anyhow? Mary has a career, too, and there's no more proof that Stella used her connections than that Mary did, and you don't hate Mary.

Oh cosmo, you're flying high that your suspended Saints players are reinstated. ;D Just don't like Stella from all I have read on her. I didn't like her shirt at the RRHF, wasn't classy but that sums up Stella. A rich English hillbilly who may be demonically possessed.

I think you don't like her 'cause she has b*lls. But Linda did, too, and you don't dislike her.
I didn't like her shirt either - it was very unclassy ...but let me tell you, I thought Paul calling her up on stage was worse than her wearing it, so I was more annoyed with him than with her.
As for the Saints - hmmmm - they need some work.

As for the Saints - hmmmm - they need some work. That's the thing; Stella was probably ordered to wear that shirt by her dad. You are right cosmo, Paul bringing her up to the stage was his deliberate endorsement of that tasteless stunt. Per the Sounes book, Paul tells everyone in his life to F-off one time or another and some regularly, even Sir George Martin. It is Paul's favorite word when the cameras aren't rolling. Paul shouldn't have boycotted The Beatles RRHF induction if he was so concerned about it. His snub of the RRHF re Beatles caused it to delay his entry as a solo artist. Paul uncharacteristically underestimated the cultural importance placed on the RRHF by certain media and celebrity types. Paul was originally right to blow off the RRHF but once John got in solo, look out! Now it was Paul and Linda's mission for Paul to get in. Stella has balls because she can bully people because of her name and her wealth. Sometimes grace and carrots work better than profanity and sticks but Stella thinks she must always be the bull in the china shop from what I can read about her. I am still calling for Stella to include her oldest sister Heather in her veil of protection from cancer. Heather is not a mother true but still deserving of basic statements of support from her more publicity seeking sister. Of course, I would hook-up with Stella in a second if the stars aligned and we both found ourselves single. I'd run to sign the Pre-Nup!
