Inside Edition just did a story "Where the Stars Will Sit at the Grammys". It showed Ringo and Barbara's seats (a photo with the name underneath) next to an empty seat and then Paul McCartney's. The list of who got mentioned was Taylor, Katy, and Jay-z and Beyoncé. Paul and Ringo weren't mentioned. A later blurb on the chairs mentioned Paul and Ringo as having front row seats for a Beatle's tribute.
I mentioned in an earlier thread that Ringo's name does not pass spell check and I didn't think that seamed right. Even more outrageous, the site has no problem with Beyoncé and Jay-z's names. It even puts the tilde on Beyoncé's E.

If Paul & Ringo are to do anything together at The Grammy's on Sunday, when The Beatles are awarded their Lifetime Grammy, the one appropriate song for them to do would be;
Ringo's "Never Without You" with the lyrics slightly adjusted to represent both George and John. Paul could sing harmony along with Ringo on the verses, if they both could get through the song without losing it. I know I would watching them.

. . . It even puts the tilde on Beyoncé's E. Not to be a dick (but, I guess I am being one), it is an accent mark, not a tilde. A tilde is that squiggly line that goes over an "n" to make it sound like "ny", as in "canyon."

But you didn't have to be such a dick about it! But isn't in pronounced Be-yon'-ce? Maybe it should be Beno'ce with a tilde over the n.

The quote above about Beyonce was not said by me. Somehow Sayne or Debjorgo in replying linked it to my name.

I think we've seen that happen around here enough to know who's saying what. It doesn't happen to me and I usually fix them when I see them. I wasn't paying attention last night.

New York Daily News had a brief article two days ago that said that Paul and Ringo WILL NOT be performing together at the Grammys. If that's true, these two nimrods need to get a clue. Really, does Ringo really think that a large worldwide audience wants to see him perform "Photograph" for the umpteenth time?!? Or, for that matter, perform solo at all. And, frankly, that goes for McCartney as well. My lord, they are going to be in the same building so why, at this point in their lives, can't they understand that it just might be a nice thing for them to do (i.e., allow lifelong fans to see them together one last time)? I mean, the lifetime achievement award is going to "The Beatles" as an entity, not to Paul and Ringo separately?!??
Now, the same article said they would be performing together at that CBS Beatles tribute show, but I can't imagine that telecast will get anywhere near the viewership of the Grammys (says shaking head sadly and with a bit of disdain) .

I get what you're saying conceptually, and it would be cool if they did and it's a lost opp if they don't, but I don't think people who have been given lifetime achievement awards at the Grammies historically play. Perhaps some have, but I don't recall many of them. They are being honored. They really shouldn't be asked to "work" for their award.

Careful The Man, or the Ringo Mafia will get you! My non-Beatle friends who commented on the Grammys commercial during the Broncos' game last Sunday all presumed the two would be playing together. They were amazed when I said that it wasn't a sure thing that Paul and Ringo would play together. Non-Beatle People think it is a no-brainer, Paul and Ringo should play together. It really is that simple but in Pepperland it don't come that easy!

I am predicting that Paul and Ringo WILL perform together at the Grammys. I think they're trying to keep it all hush-hush, if indeed they intend to play. It would be much more of a surprise that way -- and it's not like they haven't shared the stage together already in recent years. I can't imagine they would be that stubborn or short-sighted in light of this now being the 50Th Anniversary in the US .

Careful The Man, or the Ringo Mafia will get you! Don't want that to happen;). OK, in spite of my peevish post about Paul and Ringo performing together, I must take it down a notch and acknowledge that Ringo has exceeded all expectations as relates to his solo years performing. Just take a look at this clip from a little over a year ago. Ringo has a very entertaining stage presence and, of course, looks and sounds great. Makes me hope to get a chance to see him again live. I took my kids to see him about 10 years ago, but they were really too young to remember. Now, as teens, I think they'd get a kick out of seeing a Richard Starkey "SHOW" (and I use the word "show" deliberately and with much respect, peace and love).

Steve published a column yesterday stating that Ken Ehrlich, the executive producer of the Grammys, says that the Grammys are deliberately being vague about what Paul and Ringo will do tonight. I think Ehrlich said that Olivia and Yoko will be at the tribute show tomorrow. Just have to tune in to see if there are going to be any surprises. If there are any surprises, I anticipate that they will keep any surprises until the very end of the show as a ploy to attract viewers and keep them watching. www.examiner.com/article/executive-producer-hints-of-beatles-surprise-at-sunday-s-grammys

Certainly, we should expect to see Paul, Ringo, Olivia and Yoko onstage together accepting the award, wouldn't you think? As far as performing together, it will be a missed opportunity for fans if they don't. We'll see, but I guess CBS will benefit from the tease.

The song, nor album, are eligible for anything this year.

LOL, sayne why did Paul play maybe three new, unknown "Driving Rain" songs at the Concert For New York City when it was a benefit concert where most artist played well known and loved songs aimed at cheering up and inspiring a hurt audience, a hurt city, a hurt nation and a hurt world? Why did Paul play "Fine Line" at the Hurricane Katrina benefit show when Paul has a million inspirational songs that could have inspired millions in the Gulf Coast to arise and rebuild! Damn, is the Grammies tonight!? I was thinking next Sunday! Yikes, I've got an I.U. mens' NCAA basketball game at 3:00 p.m. with about a 12 pack of beer calling me. Hope I remember the Grammies. Someone please give me a reminder call!

Paul just won another Grammy for Best Surround Sound Kisses on the Bottom. He did not appear onstage to accept those awards. Other people (I don't know who they were) accepted the Grammys. These are the awards that are given out in the afternoon before the actual show.

Perhaps he wants to get a head start on next year . Seriously, I think Paul really can't win with us. We criticize him for playing too many Beatles songs on tour, then criticize him for playing his current stuff. I'm guilty of this too . Actually, I like the idea of him playing stuff that shows he's still active and relevant. By the way, it sucks to be in the mountain time zone, as it looks like we will have an hour's delay in seeing the broadcast.

Queenie Eye reflects very well on Paul, it's a good interesting rocker that he sings well, at least on record, I if you want a Paul to come across as current and vibrant this is the song. Sounds like Ringo's gonna get to sing... Wonder what that's going to be? WALHFMF?

Stevie Wonder is prominently featured yet again(he just starred at Michelle Obama's ritzy birthday bash), does he have anything new to offer?
I am worried as I now smell "Ebony And Ivory" coming!
I wish Ringo would do "Early 1970" as it is his best tribute song to his mates, hands down.
