I'm intrigued from the clips I heard, but have to check a little more.

So is this legit to buy?
I recently ordered the Alternate London Town. It's one of the Japanese needle drops sold out of Russia. The seller in Russia registered it to get a signature. I was afraid to go pick it up. Are these legal? And not to mention the boycott of Russia because of the Kiev situation.
I did pick it up. The girl at the PO acted nervous. "Can I see your signature?" Laugh. "I mean your ID." Laugh, laugh, laugh. I almost turned around and went back to the car.
I mean, I bought it from amazon.com. That's legal isn't it?
Needless to say, I'm didn't go to jail.
This sounds a whole lot better than my copy on cassette did back in the seventies. I'm tempted, but times are tough. I'm still waiting on the next McCartney Archive release. I wondering how much that's going to cost me.

I picked up the Japanese Black Album sometime ago. I didn't have to sign for it, came in regular mail. It's gorgeous and includes a poster. Doesn't sound any better than the boot, but it's fun to have on CD.

I had the inherent bad timing of buying a Magical Mystery Tour DVD boot through amazon.com about a year and a half before it was officially released by Crapple. It was through an independent vendor but I too was surprised amazon.com would allow it listed in its Beatles section. I don't know if I will get this Star Club release. I kind of like my Sony CDs, Vols. 1 & 2, of this(1990's?) even if I am missing 24 seconds of some song.

I want this one on CD, so I'm gonna check for it.
Today I'm gonna go to one of the many awesome bootleg stores near Shinjuku in Tokyo. One of them has an entire wall of beautiful, perfectly organized CD bootlegs of just about every Beatle/solo-Beatle bootleg in existence, all in better-than-professional quality CD sleeves.
They'll get this one eventually...

I want it too. I bought the original Linasong set upon release back in the 1970s on pre-recorded cassette. The sound quality was predictably woeful and I understand not much better on vinyl. I think I do own some previous CD edition, but this latest one seems to be worth consideration.

It does sound better than what we've always heard. Still obviously recorded from the audience, but better. I would get it, I suppose. But notice how the more lengthy audio clips are the ones of songs that have always sounded a bit better and clearer on the old copies to begin with... the shorter track excerpts used later on in the ad were never of as distinct quality as "Twist and Shout", "I saw Her Standing There" and "Ask Me Why".

I've put the whole thing on my iPhone and it sounds really good. As someone mentioned, the vocals do seem to jump out. The guy told me he's in the process of shipping now.

Looks like Ted Taylor is going after them claiming they are bootlegging his tapes? I assume this company won't be shut down anytime soon? I ordered a set and paid thru Paypal. Does Apple/Sony have any control over this music? I assume not or they would go after them with a lot of legal firepower to halt this. They claim they plan to upgrade the Hollywood Bowl and Budokan tapes? Now wouldn't Apple have control over those?

Clearly these guys cannot remaster the Hollywood Bowl or Budokan concerts and sell those without permission from Apple and EMI? They claim those will be among their next projects.

I would be very curious of Budokan, because the music was professionally filmed, but not tracked.

As an owner of the original vinyl, I am more concerned with the audio than the disc, so I'm going to gamble on waiting for a few audiophile reviews , But if a go I do intend to get the disc, not a download.

Just finished listening to the CDs and I must say that this is the best sounding version of the Star Club tapes that I've heard. The vocals while still in the background are much more clearer and discernible and the instruments are much sharper. Ringo's drumming is particularly strong and goes to prove that the Beatles made the right choice in bringing him into the band. Definitely a set worth considering.

I got my copy in the mail today. Just scanning over the liner notes, this looks pretty interesting. I'll have to put aside a good hour or two to give this a proper listen. I'm also interested in the Get Back Nagra Tape remaster mentioned in the packaging insert.
Btw, I have quite a few boots, like the Alt London Town I mentioned above, that I've collected over the years. I was just a little nervous picking this last one up at the Post Office. I have a postal rep coming into our work operation in a few weeks to talk about postal theft. It would probably had been the same guy putting the cuffs on me.
I do like to say though, that should any of these tracks come out on Apple, I will gladly repurchase them. I wish Apple would release everything then I would be able to sort through all the duplicate tracks.

There's not a whole lot of info on it. There is a questionnaire that list different projects that they have going on. They ask that you check each item in a list if you are interested in hearing about. It just has one line on the Nagra project that says: The Beatles - best of the Get Back sessions Nagra Tape remaster. Other items are: Live in the Uk and Sweden '63, Live on TV - Ed Sullivan, Blackpool '64, Shindig 1st US Concert - Washington DC '64 ...Hollywood Bowl '64-'65 and so on. There are also 6 items on the Stones and 3 on Bob Dylan.

I think a lot of that stuff they want to remaster is protected vigorously by the labels that hold the originals, like The Beatles Hollywood Bowl, Washington DC Concert and Budokan. I wouldn't be surprised to hear the "bootleg police" pay a visit to them sometime soon to put a stop to this, but I'll grab what I can from them before that happens. Lots of the dealers who sell bootlegs that I have bought have been shut down over the years. Both here in the USA and in Europe.

Well the complete Nagra reels were collected by police in Europe around 2003, but the cat was already out of the bag, as the entire collection is available in pristine (albeit in the room mono) condition. There are great new mastering techniques (as we can hear with Star Club), that can hopefully transpose the 300 or more complete songs performed that month that were never tracked. Much of that is alternate and/or early takes of the main releases, but many are very good and a shame the multi-tracks weren't on. We're not talking holy grail stuff, but some of it is as good if not better than Kinfauns, specifically because it is all 4 playing. And the biggest challenge will be to eliminate the sync beeps!
