On Extra! last night, they did a spot on the annual Snowflake ball where Ringo was honored for his humanitarian efforts with the George Harrison award.
Mario introduces the segment with "Let me bring in my man AJ, who was hanging out with music royalty last night".
"It's not every day you get to hang out with a Beatle. Ringo was there spreading peace and love for the kids."
In the clip, AJ says to Ringo and Barbara "You all look fantastic this evening".
Ringo replies "Have you ever seen us not to looking fantastic?"
"No!"
"No. There you go!"
Ringo's speech? "I only have one thing to say, Peace and Love! Peace and Love!"

Garth Brooks did Hey Jude on his recent TV special. CBS This Morning spotlighted it. I didn't see the special.
85,000 fans in Notre-Dame's Stadium.
"How do you make people feel intimate in an 85,000 (setting)? You sing that song and you make everyone feel like they are a part of the experience!"
"We all know the words."

"How do you make people feel intimate in an 85,000 (setting)? You sing that song and you make everyone feel like they are a part of the experience!" "We all know the words." I had friends at that concert and it was miserable weather-wise but they ultimately enjoyed the concert. Like any filmed concert for TV, there were lots of starts and stops and the Producers tried to get a "wave" going which did not go over well in that freezing snow/rain environment! My buddy told me they did "Hey Jude" but I didn't watch enough of the special the other night to see it. I wonder if Garth did the, "Now just the people in the middle seats" and the "You were great and you were great and you were great?"

On the Family Guy from Dec 09, Brian the dog gets famous as a spokesperson for a beer company. He tries to popularize the term Beaglemania.
Peter walks up on Meg and Chris, wearing Beaglemania tee-shirts. Meg tells Pete "He (Brian) says it (the term) is really catching on".
Chris adds "He even recorded the Bite Album".
We switch to the recording studio with Brian chanting "K Nine, K Nine, K Nine...".

On the 10/22/18 episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, they show a newsreel of the British invasion with the Beatles arriving at JFK. "That's B e 'A' t because that's the way they keep the beat."
The Stars of the show are in the crowd. A spectator asks "How can you even tell them apart?" Brandon Routh answers "Paul's the cute one. George is the Quiet one. Ringo...".
It switches to Dominic Purcell's charactor who say's "I've never met an Englishman I didn't want to punch in the face". Nick Zano's charactor tell's Mick to "Relax. If it weren't for the British Invasion, there be no Rolling Stones, no Led Zep..., no Black Sabbath".
"No Black Sabbath? Well then. We need to protect these buffheads(?) from whatever's screwing up history".
Later in the show, I think someone eats the brown acid at Woodstock.

Wednesday's episode of The Orville is titled "All the World is Birthday Cake". So take a piece but not too much.
The Orville likes to drop in little 20th Century references here and there. Last Wednesday's episode had scenes from the King and I and a couple Billy Joel songs. Don't ask me why.

NBC Nightly News and CBS Evening News both did stories on The Roof Top Concert's 50th anniversary tonight. NBC focused mainly on tributes across the world, even in New York City with its frigid weather tonight and CBS mentions the upcoming documentary with unreleased footage. They will be on NBC's Lester Holt's playlist going home. CBS did a promo, "Stories we're working on tonight", during the local news.

On a Criminal Minds from January 9, 2019, Penelope scans a recording for back-masking. "That's messages played backwards under other audio tracks. You know like "I burrrrried paul...."
Not a back-masked message but close enough.

From Access last night, "Ariana Grande is on fire! She has the top three spots on the Billboard 100. The first artist to do that since the Beatles, back in 1964. And apparently she is still trying to wrap her mind around that." They show a clip of Ariana from the Late Late Show: "I thought it was a joke. It's really wild. My mom and I were driving around listening to the Beatles all day. I was like, this is crazy." hollywoodlife.com/2019/02/20/ariana-grande-personal-life-breakup-late-late-show-interview/

I finally got around to getting the Blu-ray of the first season of Star Trek: Discovery.
In the episode Context is for Kings, Paul says to Michael "I was told to expect a Vulcan".
Michael replies "I was raised on Vulcan, and attended the Vulcan Science Academy".
To which Paul says "My uncle Everett plays in a Beatles cover band; it hardly makes him John Lennon".
The Beatles, still a reference in 2256.

I took that as sort of a "You lost me there" reaction.

Benard Purdie and Chuck Rainey sit in with the Tonight Show band on Tuesday, April 9. Both artists have a Beatle connection. If you don't like Purdie's "played on the Beatles' Tony Sheridan tracks" connection, he also played on the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band film soundtrack.
Chuck Rainey played bass with King Curtis All-Stars when they toured with the Beatles. King Curtis played sax on the Imagine album.

On Entertainment Tonight last night, Keltie Knight asks us "The Beatle's greatest hits, with a twist. Will it be love at first flight, as I try to become a Cirque du Soleil performer?" Hey Jude plays as the ET correspondent hangs in the air unattended. "Getting hungry!"
After the break and a few stories, Revolution is playing. ".... Plus, all the Beatles' hits. And my epic misses. I'll take you inside the Cirque du Soleil flight school." She is once again suspended but now swinging wildly. "Can we get one of these on the ET stage?"
When we returned, "Another absolute must if you come to Vegas, the long-running Cirque du Soleil show Beatles LOVE. It's so great! 15 years at the Mirage and I got to experience a day in the life of their high-flying performers". We see her learning flips and cartwheels in the harness while several Beatle songs play. Later in the story she says "I'd say I nailed the audition!"

On Saturday Night Live last night, at a party at the Duke and Duchess' Estate, Prince Harry is talking to the camera, introducing the quest to his future grandchild. At one point, Ringo Starr (not really him) walks by. "Beatle alert. Ringo Starr!" Ringo ducks past, "Peace and Love". "I kind of wish it was Paul but anyway."

Is this the teaser? I cannot believe that Ringo is going to be 79! That blows me away. Dear John would likewise be 78 if only....
