Of course all the news shows this morning did stories on Peter Fonda's death. CBS made note of Peter telling John Lennon that he knew what it was like to be dead. They went on to tell how John used the line in She Said She Said. They played a snip of the song as they showed the Revolver album cover.

John Travolta's new movie is "The Fanatic", about a star obsessed fan.
Travolta: "At five, I would have done anything to meet Jimmy Cagney and Paul McCartney of the Beatles. Absolutely!"
Renee Bargh: When you did meet Paul McCartney...? I'm sure you have.
"Oh man. Oh man. I sang with him. We sang Fly Me to the Moon and it was a celebratory moment. He said 'I represented the sixties. You represented the seventies'. He said 'We should celebrate this together.' So we sang in the parking lot of, I think it was a Tom Ford party, of some sort."
RB: Did you have that kind of 'pinch yourself' fan moment?
"100 percent!"

Of course any documentary on Music that covers the sixties era, even the PBS Country Music miniseries, has to mention the Beatles.
On the Sons and Daughters of America (1964-1968) edition of the series, they say most people in the Country music industry viewed the Beatles as mop-haired interlopers. Buck Owens became an outspoken supporter "I like their music, their attitude, refusing to let anybody push them around. Though, I am still old fashioned enough to not like their hair." The show breaks to a clip of Buck singing Act Naturally. The film then goes on to say "As it turned out, the Beatles were Country music fans themselves. George Harrison's initial interest in guitars was prompted by listening to his father's Jimmy Rodgers records and Chet Adkins was his hero. As a teenager, John Lennon sang Hank William's Honkytonk Blues around his home in Liverpool. Young Paul McCartney liked Marty Robbins. And drummer Ringo Starr sited Gene Autry, the singing cowboy he had seen in the movies at age eight, as the most significant musical force in my life." The clip goes on to include a clip of the Beatles singing Act Naturally live. "Buck Owens LOVED it!"
There was a little more. You may want to catch this when it re-airs.

A reporter on one of the Entertainment news shows handed Blake Shelton a guitar and he starts singing "Boys 'Round Here">
Red red red red red red red red redneck Well the boys 'round here don't listen to The Beatles Run ole Bocephus through a jukebox needle at a honky-tonk, where their boots stomp All night; what? (That's right)
Yeah, and what they call work, digging in the dirt Gotta get it in the ground 'fore the rain come down To get paid, to get the girl In your 4 wheel drive (A country boy can survive)
Competing with the Beatles, huh? Good luck with that.

I thought Doctor Who had been cancelled. It's been off the air a year. The last series was only 10 shows long.
On the Season Premier episode, the one companion (I used to know his name) asks his Alexa to "Play Rubber Soul". Alexa tells him where the nearest shoe shop is.

Louisville's Kaitlynn Fish has yet to mention the Beatles. View AttachmentI don't know why I keep watching her. An update on Kaitlynn. There was a story a couple of weeks back about older rockstars being the hottest touring tickets out right now. The story mentioned Paul, Elton, The Stones, Bruce.... Kaitlynn said the Stone s and Springsteen put on great shows. A blown chance to mention Paul. Two or three days ago, there was a story on the open position for touring guide for the Beatles childhood homes. Kaitlynn said "Love that old footage. Great song too". Hard Day's Night was playing throughout the piece. They closed out the segment with I Want to Hold Your Hand.

In a CBS Sunday Morning story about Bellevue Hospital this morning, it's mentioned that Lennon was brought there after being shot. "In one of the great ironies of this story, Pus-sucker (not sic) was being examined by psychiatrists probably 100 feet away from where John Lennon's body was in the morgue."
