I will have to catch that online, hopefully Corden's webpage has video replays for musical guest. I just watched it. Played a T Rex song. I don't remember what the original sounds like, but it's so "John." Can't complain, though. At least it's real people playing real instruments . . . like they used to do way back in the 20th Century.

I should re-title this thread as Beatles in the Media. I have a lot of old newspapers in the house. I am one of the few people who keep old newspapers but who actually does read them at some point. They are actually kind of comforting right now. No killer virus. The funnies from October 2016.

I would be pumped if Wilfred found an interview with his Pops and David Cassidy, a 1970's Legend!

Tomorrow, Oct 5, 2020, NBC's Today show will have an interview with Wilfred, the son of David Frost. Apparently he's found some never before heard tapes of interviews with towering figures from the sixties and seventies. The interview with Wilfred did not mention the Beatles. It focused on the missing interviews from David's show. A large tape library of the shows was found in the Richard Nixon library. Apparently he taped them all. No mention of David Cassidy either. The Beatles were mentioned later on. The story of the first time Paul met John from the BBC special with Sean, is spotlighted. Side point, I have recently moved. Up until now, I have dubbed down all of these Beatles on TV stories and put them on DVDs. I can't get the connections to work in the new place. I not sure why I can't. In the past, some of the stories were protected and wouldn't dub down but I can't even get the channels to come in now. Third story from the morning, on a local program, Great Day Live, Louisville recording artist Carly Johnson tells a story. "In Liverpool England, I got to go and perform at a festival there. But before the festival, we got to perform in the Cavern Club, which is a really famous club where the Beatles came up and the Beatles are my favorite band of all time. So that was incredibly special." The host pointed at her own smiling face and said "Me too. I just gasped again. That's a dream come true! That's amazing!"

20/20 will spotlight John Lennon: His Life, His Legacy, His Last Days, Friday night at 9:00 EST. I saw positive feedback of this program on Facebook. I will need to find it on YouTube or "on demand" with my cable provider. I missed your head's-up Deb! I'm a slacker.

Comcast did have this 20/20 on demand and it is pretty good! I would encourage all to track it down if you haven't seen it yet.
I will say that the lack of a contemporary Yoko interview in this program worries me as to her health.
There were places in the program that choked me up!

Last night's Access Hollywood marked Lennon's 80th birthday with a story on John Lennon 1980 the Last Days of His Life. Author Kenneth Womack wanted to write about this time in Lennon's life that wasn't a true crime story. The new album release was mentioned as well.

Ringo Starr’s induction speech From T. Rex, my good friend Marc Bolan. People knew him as a great musician, a songwriter, a guitarist, but he was also a poet, and he was very proud of that. He was always telling me that he was the No. 1 selling poet in Britain. In fact, his poetry was as important to him as his music. He had great style and was really unlike anyone else I have ever met.
He was a great performer, just incredible, and that’s why I called the film we did together Born to Boogie because he really was. I told Marc, “I’ll bring the camera and everything else, you just bring yourself.” We had a lot of fun together. I remember lots of laughter.
We lost him way too young. Within his short life he made over 12 albums that are as far out and ahead of their time as he was. With the help of Tony Visconti and his band T. Rex, Marc’s style started a lot of trends. They called it glam rock, with singles such as “Get It On,” “Children of the Revolution,” and, of course, “Born to Boogie.” But it was always just great music to me, and that’s why people are still listening to T. Rex today. There’s no doubt they belong in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Finally! And I’m very proud to welcome them in right now. Peace and love to Marc, Mickey, Steve, and Bill, and peace and love to all the fans from me and T. Rex. Peace and love!

CBS This Morning: Saturday is Andy Peeples on his book about his interview just two days before John was murdered. Since we are at the 40th anniversary of Double Fantasy(John's brief return to music) and then his murder, I have been fascinated with John Lennon's 1980 musical activities and I would love to know more about his and Yoko's plans to further promote the album as by December 8th they had made no TV appearances and I do not recall any music videos(or promo films) prior to John's murder. Was a tour really scheduled? Were John and Yoko really set to co-host SNL in January 1981? When was Milk & Honey supposed to be released? There are now at least three new books out about John Lennon in 1980 including this one you mentioned Debjorgo!

CBS This Morning's story on the anniversary of Lennon's death starts with All You Need is Love. Short story but they had some video of John I hadn't seen. An airport footage with John wearing a silky copper colored shirt around the time of Imagine?
On NBC Today, Harry Smith had one of Lennon's last TV interviews. The spot also tells the story of the Beatles' fame, the breakup and the solo careers. We get a snip of Instant Karma.
Smith, who lives in the Dakota neighborhood, says a couple times a week, a stranger will ask. "Can you tell me how to get to Strawberry Fields".

On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night, Stephen's guest, James Corden, said he got a call from Paul McCartney who told him he heard about James' parody song about Donald Trump, "Maybe I'm Immune", when Willie Nelson texted him the youtube link. James goes on to talk about getting Paul for the charity ad from a few years back that had the long list of big name persons. To accomplish this "You go and get the most famous person and everyone else falls in line. In Britain, that's Paul McCartney, then the Ex-prime minister, and then everybody after that". He goes on to say how he got Paul. "If you do this sketch, some people will not die. If you said no to that, I would had said I'd name my unborn son after you." Paul said "Done!" www.msn.com/en-us/tv/news/willie-nelson-texted-paul-mccartney-about-james-corden-s-maybe-i-m-immune-parody/vi-BB1bPVr2

Ringo Starr was listed as a guest on Friday's Today Show. However, I did not see an actually story with Ringo. Although there was a story with Carson Daly for Popstar Time on Paul's McCartney III guest appearance on the Tonight Show discussing Fallon sending his own music tracks to Paul. He shows Find My Way and gives a good review of the album.
Carson says "I mean, guys, with Ringo Starr yesterday, today it's Sir Paul McCartney. I mean these two Beatles are still going strong, and creating great, great music".
Maybe I missed a Ringo interview yesterday?

CBS Sunday Morning had a snip of Larry King asking Paul McCartney if he has to pinch himself, "saying, how did all this happen to me". Paul has short hair, parted on the side. Heather Mills period?
If anyone is reading this in 2031, Larry King had just passed away yesterday.
