Somehow, sayne, you got all of lowbasso's quote under my name but I'll echo what he said! Interesting what you stated. If my I.U. was in Butler's shoes, I'd be sweating over playing either. Both Kentucky and UConn are dangerous and both cheating sons of bitches! Magic Johnson said Friday on Jimmy Fallon that either Butler or VCU would be the next National Champions. I hope Magic is right! Butler knocked out #1 Pittsburgh, #2 Florida, and #4 Wisconsin in their region as well as VCU in the Final Four (who in turn knocked out #1 Kansas in their region) so I think they have an excellent chance to beat UConn, who was seeded #3 in their region and who only had to knock out one team seeded higher than they were (#2 San Diego St.) to reach the National Championship game. I also like that all the television basketball analysts, and our friend sayne, say Butler don't have a chance. I got nervous before VCU because for once Butler was favored! The analysts said last week that Florida was going to clobber Butler, too physical, too athletic.

. . . I also like that all the television basketball analysts, and our friend sayne, say Butler don't have a chance. I don't think I said they don't have a chance. I actually hope they win. I think if they can get UCONN tired by the middle of the second half, they will have a great chance.

Yikes, that was ugly! I thought that Butler was right where they needed to be at halftime despite a horrendous shooting performance.
Butler choked, they were missing wide open shots and bunnies. UCONN was beatable but Butler could not make a shot to save their lives. If we remember right, they had this shooting problem in the Final last year with Duke(not nearly as bad though) but kept it close.
I had to remind myself that I am not a Butler fan although certainly I wanted them to win because of geography and because UCONN is a dirty program and the program was sanctioned by the NCAA just this past February.
Not all Cinderella's ride off with the handsome Prince and live happily ever after. Some Cinderella's remain in the dungeon enslaved, dirty, tortured, battered and live out their lives horribly. That was Butler who two years in a row made it to the Final game and really could have won both. They will have to live the rest of their lives with such failure.
Being second for two years in a row makes Butler a double LOSER!

Butler has some recent company in Jason Kidd's NJ Nets and Jim Kelly's Buffalo Bills.

Three's a charm, JSD. Quit being so negative! ;D JCV I was thinking how I could have had a more miserable Monday evening than I did last night watching the Butler-UCons game and I came up with the following which did cheer me up a little: 1. Be a captive of pirates in the Indian Ocean or held in the deep caverns of Afghanistan by an Islamist terror group; 2. Be waterboarded by Dick Cheney when old Dick is only wearing a "man thong;" 3. Being forced to sit through an entire 24 hour, non-stop, repeat showing of Give My Regard To Broadstreet with commentary from my friend RTP; 4. Writing an essay on what the songs from Ringo The 4th mean to me and having to end each song's essay with a boldened "Peace and Love, Peace and Love, Peace And Love"; or 5. Spending quality, intimate time with my wife! See JCV, I'm trying to be more positive! ;D

I would hardly call a team that makes it to the Championship Game two years in a row a LOSER! They had two pretty phenominal seasons in a row to get to where they did. When was the last time IU or Purdue went to the Championship Game two seasons in a row? (Hint; Never.) Conrats to Butler, now one of THREE major college basketball teams in Indiana, and currently the top dog of the three.

Geez, Notre Dame women choked too and they were essentially playing on a home court in Indy. Two Indiana colleges in the two Final games(men's and women's) and they both choked! Well, at least Notre Dame women won it all earlier this decade. Poor Butler will have to live with knowing they could have had two back to back championships but have zero. Man, we need the proven five time National Champs, the Indiana Hoosiers back!

Even some fans who worship the man think he was past his prime. I would like to see him at least have a relationship with the school which he does not now.
