Trailer looks great! Can't wait! I hope it plays in some theatres. I would really like to see it on the big screen. PS In the trailer Paul says George had a really great haircut. Where did that come from? Guess we'll have to wait to see the context in which Paul made the comment. In the trailer it seems rather a silly thing to say about your mate in the biggest band there ever was...... Hope they have some quotes by John about George in the film as well. Didn't see anything in the trailer.

That looked really interesting. What is the latest on a c.d. soundtrack? Is there one or is it still that you have to buy the super deluxe blu-ray box to get a bonus c.d?

John, I was told the info about the CD hasn't been released yet. I don't think the only way to get it will be buying the blu-ray.

I've looked forward to a groovy soundtrack double or triple c.d. more than the movie. I'll watch the movie a half a dozen times or so but I'd play a c.d. hundreds or thousands of times over a lifetime.

Lowbasso, I am guessing that quote from Paul is him talking about the pre-Beatle days when he first met George as school kids. "He was cocky. He had a cool haircut..." His voice sounds just like the way Paul sounded describing when he first met John.
Never thought I would hear bits of "Revolution 9" in a trailer for a George Harrison movie, but its use seems to be to create the feeling of emotional chaos that Beatlemania and the Beatles break-up must have felt like for George. That's my take at least.

The deluxe set is already available for pre-order on Amazon UK. There's no song listing for the Cd though. It just says unreleased recordings.
Can you order imports from Amazon Uk? I don't have any pound notes.

Be careful though. I'm not sure what Region B/2 is. Clicking the link it gives, I'm guessing B is for the Blu-ray and 2 is for the DVD, meaning they only play in Europe.

I wish Dylan had given an interview for this movie.
Maybe Yoko will take the opportunity to apologize for getting up out of her bed and stealing his cookie without asking during the Abbey Road sessions. ha ha ha

I am one who did not think that he snubbed The Concert For George as he mentioned it and tenderly gave his regrets at a NYC concert days before(and then went into "Something") in what must have set a record for most words ever spoken by Dylan at a post-1980 concert.

I think Dylan's just camera shy or something. I think he has great fondness for George, but for whatever reason he doesn't go for these types of projects. He doesn't appear in documentaries about ANYTHING, and even for No Direction Home, he had his manager ask all the questions and submitted his own videos to Scorsese to use. The director never got to sit down and interview Dylan for the film!
Still, it would have been cool at least if Dylan had written a letter for the film that Olivia or Dhani could read on camera, something like that, over footage of them rehearsing "If Not For You" at the Concert for Bangladesh....Oh well.

Good points. Dylan issued a very moving statement when George died. It choked me up back then. "George was a giant, a great, great soul, with all of the humanity, all of the wit and humor, all the wisdom, the spirituality, the common sense of a man and compassion for people. He inspired love and had the strength of a hundred men. He was like the sun, the flowers and the moon and we will miss him enormously. The world is a profoundly emptier place without him.'' I just ordered HBO for George's movie (and for the Sarah Palin special on Sept. 3--I know some people think she is evil incarnate).
I think it is time George got his due. Maybe we do underappreciate the Beatles solo work. Certainly Beatle George deserves more credit. I understand that in the documnentary Paul says something like "anyone who thinks the Beatles didn't need George as much as John or I is wildly mistaken". Bravo. I always thought George was as talented as John and Paul but that 1. He didn't have the attention or partnership of anyone else, 2. He starting songwriting after he became famous and therefore made his mistakes more in public 3. He was a bit slower in developing as a songwriter and 4. He was not a prolific but quantity doesn't equal quality.
I was a bit hard on ATMP. Its actually one of my favorite post-Beatles albums.

Yes - DVD region 2 is for us (Europe) even though only the UK & Ireland speak the same first language as people in the US and Canada. So be careful. No idea in this day and age why there has to be a regional coding for DVDs as there never has been for CDs? In the UK though a lot of DVD players will play Region 1 (North American) DVDs anyway without a problem. But I really don't know if the same applies across the pond with Region 2 DVD.

Lots of websites offering multi-region hacks for DVD players - a sequence of keystrokes put with the remote control which removes the region restriction. Worth checking whether your player is on. That's how come I can play the Justice League Unlimited box set! Plus the US Concert For George special edition was much cheaper than the UK release.

LOL! Right when Steve calmed me, brothermichael is freaking me out again! I too want a cool c.d. set, two discs at least, preferably three! There you go! Don't be calm. I'm had too many years of settling for what the Harrisons offer. Exclusive songs tucked away in outrageously priced special edition books. iTunes bonus tracks that require the purchase of albums I already own (in some cases vinyl, two CD versions -- and I know, the same happened with Macca's albums on iTunes). And ONE bonus track on the said remastered CDs. Enough. I'm not buying the expensive Blue/DVD/Book set. To get what little morsel of new music is being offered, I'll do what I did to get Dylan's extra songs from the Tell-Tale Signs exclusive third disc: steal them from a download site.

There are DVD players available here in the U.S. that handle all regions. I bought one for about $25. Amazon has them. I would suggest not hacking your machine, but that's me.

. . . PS In the trailer Paul says George had a really great haircut. Where did that come from? Guess we'll have to wait to see the context in which Paul made the comment . . . I agree with "beatleroadie". Paul does seem have a hair "jones" for George. I, too, have heard him talk about George's hair when he was a kid and also marvel at George's "turnip" or "onion" at the top of his head on Beatles for Sale. I think Paul's comments in this doc make absolute sense. To us, George is "GEORGE HARRISON OF THE BEATLES!" To Paul, he's, "George, my friend." Their relationship would cause them to know things, see things, hear things, focus on things that we would never know, notice, or maybe even care about. Not to be morbid, but it's like a eulogy. A eulogy given by your boss would be much different that one given by your brother. I think it's charming to hear Paul wax fondly on George's hair.

I just ordered HBO for George's movie (and for the Sarah Palin special on Sept. 3--I know some people think she is evil incarnate). Nah, she's just an undereducated person with a lot of belief in herself. She has no qualifications for federal office. If she becomes president we well may have 4 years more disasterous the the W years, and that is really saying something.

I agree with what you've said here. The Beatles were the Beatles because they had 4 amazing talents, what other band can say that?
