ACTUALLY, as a black and white photo, it makes me think that with his now older and gravelly voice, he should present his stellar sense of tunefulness with an edgier, stripped down sound. Sorta along the lines of Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, JJ Cale, Johnny Cash, and even Leonard Cohen. I think Rick Rubin could really bring out a powerful, but tuneful, roots sound out of Paul. That photo could be the cover. I think the photo also shows that Paul should and could get into some serious, non-starring, indie film roles. |

I have been stewing what I will do when Pure McCartney finally arrives! Do I put my CD player on "Shuffle" or is it enough that these hand-picked songs by Paul are in an order never before heard? And where do I start? Do I start predictably at Disc 1 or do I throw caution to the wind and start at Disc 4? Decisions, decisions but at least I have 30 days to decide this!  |

I liked FourFiveSeconds, even if Paul hardly sang on it. I remember suggesting a couple of years ago that Paul could write songs for other artists if his voice finally gave out. I am not saying he is at that point now, but I wonder if FourFiveSeconds (and the other stuff he wrote with Kanye) is a calculated first step along that path?

Perhaps. I don't think though Paul plans on retiring from performing, including singing.
He pulls a miracle every night as we have folks on this very Board who see Paul live and claim that Paul is singing better than he ever has in his entire life and that the YouTube videos from their shoes are just not recorded right.

Question: Why is so Paul so perpetually clean-shaven in his 'golden' years, and, really, since about 1977? Dude could obviously grow a killer, dark beard before, so I'd think he could have an old-man beard now and it would be white and look cool.
