How quick was this young dude to cover Paul's new songs. Wow, I like that young man's renditions more than Paul's by a longshot! The kid has got a voice! "Come On To Me" needs a singer with a strong voice! That ain't Paul anymore, sadly!

Thanks for that, a good interview but after i read it i was left wondering if he'd been instructed not to divulge too much about Paul the man, Paul the Muso. The bit about Nursery Rhyme melody was interesting, more so because i expected him to say that about Paul's lyrics.

I've had a little time to digest the two new songs. Funny, as different as they are from each other, they both remind me of Demon's Dance.

Not a lot of positive comment about this latest song of Paul's, so far.

I'm thinking Paul's 2013 album needs to renamed, something other than NEW, since we are talking about his "new" album that isn't named NEW.

Not a lot of positive comment about this latest song of Paul's, so far. Hey, I saw some very negative comments on what I think is Paul's Facebook Page which is very rare for any official Macca forum! One punter said that this song with its sly, vulgar line creeps him out because it reminds him of, "when grandad first says something inappropriate to the female staff at the nursing home!" That was funny and true to how I feel about this crass, tasteless prank of a song.

I suppose Fuh You is tasteless, but I think it's harmless as well. I understand that he is actually saying "for you," rather than "fuck you," but obviously the intent is to suggest the latter. I don't actually mind the song. It sounds like an OK pop song to me.
Only one more week to wait for Egypt Station. I have a copy of the CD pre-ordered, but there is no guarantee it will be delivered on release day. If it isn't I will be pissed off and immediately buy a second copy in a store if I have too. Five years is too long to wait between new McCartney studio albums.

I should have started a countdown for Egypt Station to celebrate this new offering. I got death threats though when doing that for Ringo's Give More Love.

I am feeling strange about Egypt Station. It's probably his last album. I also feel the absence of Lennon when he puts out new albums. I think about how nice it would have been to get new Lennon songs - not that I'd imagine Lennon to be quite so prolific.

I have a strange feeling about Egypt Station too but mine is not so ominous: I just worry I won't like it! I have not liked the three songs thus far released. I will buy the album and maybe be pleasantly surprised. I also miss John Lennon a lot! Unspeakable evil was his murder.

I am playing a waiting game with this album as I suspect a special version with extra tracks and possibly a DVD will follow on it's heels a couple of months after.
But that's just me. I suspect there may well be one or two original albums from Paul before he leaves the business for good.

I suspect there may well be one or two original albums from Paul before he leaves the business for good. He's been doing that on the last three or four albums. I've got two identical NEW albums. One has a DVD. And then I have the Pure McCartney sized book of NEW as well. Ain't happening this time. I don't have the disposable cash now that I did back then. I have the disc ordered from amazon. I will probably buy the book sized, two disc version but no second, identical version of the single disc, this time. (Unless it has a dvd disc, or something. Oh shoot!! Who am I kidding? Paul knows how to get my money, disposable or not.) If I was smart, I'd buy the digital version and get the hard copy book size when it comes out.

Have various versions of Egypt Station been announced?! I haven't checked amazon.com and I am banned from paulmccartney.com for life! I do hate when artists[cough Paul and Ringo] subsequently release better versions of their current album after we all bought the first version!

Well, we learned to buy the Target version, two extra songs!
I thought that Target had abandoned CDs but I guess not.

I think about how nice it would have been to get new Lennon songs - not that I'd imagine Lennon to be quite so prolific. I think it lacks some of George's guitar playing, with George playing only what Paul wants him to play, because George loved it when Paul was pleased with his contribution.

The Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station is where the “secret” Paul McCartney concert will supposedly take place tonight. The area has been closed off for special events before.

I ‘ve had the CD version of Egypt Station for a day now. The artwork is excellent. The packaging is excellent: it opens up into six panels and is held together with a red elastic band.
I’m still evaluating the music itself. The album is full of musicality and diversity, while Paul’s voice sounds good. He is in better voice than on New, IMO. I think there are plenty of good songs on this album, but perhaps no real stand out. I’ll say straight up that I think the album is too long. The two instrumentals are just trifles. No doubt they are only present to set the rail station theme. I rate I Don’t Know, Come On To Me, Who Cares, Hand In Hand and Dominoes highly. Happy With You, Fuh You, Confidante, Back In Brazil and Do It Now are all good as well to my ears. Confidante sounds reminiscent of Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now to me. I’m really undecided about Despite Repeated Warnings and Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link. I’m not sure the last mentioned track was the correct choice to end the album with. People Want Peace could have been dropped, IMO.
Oh, and if you have been intrigued like me about the title of Caesar Rock, it's just a rhyming play on some lyrics from the song. Paul actually sings "she's a rock."
At the moment I am rating Egypt Station at four stars out of five. If I eventually embrace Despite Repeated Warnings and Hunt You Down/Naked/C-Link then that could rise.

The History Channel is apparently getting into the spirit of the release by rebroadcasting an episode of Ancient Aliens titled Earth Station Egypt, airing tonight, under its Declassified heading, with extra never before seen footage.
